A joint investigation by the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement led to the arrest of T. J Barber, Jr. age 25, of Quincy, Florida. Barber was arrested on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. A deputy with the Sheriff’s office attempted to stop the vehicle, that Barber was driving, for a traffic violation. Barber pulled into the Dairy Queen parking lot and immediately exited the vehicle and started to run. Barber was apprehended in the area of Drummond Community Bank. Barber had marijuana on his person that was packaged for resale. Barber was arrested and charged with Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Resisting Arrest without Violence, Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to Sell, No Valid Drivers License, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of more than 20 Grams of Cannabis, and was also arrested on five warrants out of Leon County, ranging from Grand Theft to Civil Contempt. Barber remains in the Dixie County Jail on a $20,000 bond on the Dixie County charges. |
