MRS. MARY LINDLE WEBB of Steinhatchee was greeted by her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 30, 2007, at her home. She was 88. Mrs. Webb was born in Alton, Florida, on August 28, 1919. Her parents were Albert Eugene Wood and Amanda Elizabeth Wood. She had one older brother, Lester R. Wood; a half brother, Leo Scofield, and a half-sister, Thelma Altman.

Lindle spent most of her life in Steinhatchee, where she met and married her husband of 43 years, Harrell Webb (1915 – 1978). Together they raised a family of 5 girls; Gail Cassidy of Cross City; Ann Levingston of Steinhatchee; Sandra Stewart of Winter Haven; Jo Smith of Lutz and Amy Webb Lee of Crystal River. She had five generations in her family with 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Lindle was a homemaker and a tailor by trade. She was blessed with many artistic gifts and shared her creative talents with many. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jena and a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi. Lindle gave many hours of service to her community through the sorority. She had a passion for life and embraced it fully from laughter and a sense of humor to tremendous strength through many of life’s adversities. She leaves us with many fond memories, to be absent from the body and we celebrate her going home to be present with the Lord Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Jena with Rev. Vaughn Farnell officiating.
Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida 352-498-5400.
