CATHERINE MARGARET SHUMPERT PAGANO, 93, of Cross City passed away, Friday, November 30, 2007, at Cross City Rehabilitation. She was born July 30, 1914 to James Arthur and Lela Taylor Shumpert in Lexington, South Carolina. She moved to Dixie County from Gainesville, Florida, in May, 2005.

She is survived by sister Leona Vallington of Gainesville, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Diane Herring Lincoln of Cross City, Wayne and Lana Anderson of Gainesville, Florida, Susan Anderson of Georgia, John Anderson of Belleview, Florida and their families. Her care givers were great nephew Tod Herring and great niece Pam, and Larry Edmonds, great-great-nephews Russ Dees, George Edmonds and Hamp Herring, and great-great-nieces Sammie Joe and Malinda Herring and a host of other great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services in Cross City were held Sunday, December 2, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Ivey officiating. Committal Services and burial were held Monday, December 3, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Forest Meadows East in Gainesville, Florida with Rev. Ed Ivey officiating.

Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. 19, Cross City, (352) 498 5400.
