MR. ROBERT LEE BROWN of Cross City passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Haven Hospice of the Tri-Counties. He was 72 years of age. Mr. Brown was born in Jena, Florida. He served in the United States Air Force for 24 years serving in Viet Nam and retiring in 1980. He then went to work for Northrop Grumman as an aircraft technician. He retired from there in 2003 and moved back to Dixie County. He was a member of the Dixie County Rotary Club, the Dixie County Chamber of Commerce and the DAV. He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Brown of Cross City; daughters, Pamela Kay Smith of Cross City and Judy Darlene Hanson of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Dan Brown Jr. of Melbourne, FL, and Lamar Brown of Cross City; sisters, Mazell Johnson of Cross City and Hattie Keating of Syracuse, NY; and grandson, Robert Corey Smith.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Walter; sister, Jenette; and parents, Dan and Mae Valentine Brown.
Funeral Services were held Monday, October 1, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Brown officiating. A visitation was held on Monday evening between the hours of 5 and 7 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at a later date at Cross City Cemetery, Cross City, Florida.

Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida 352-498-5400.
