The Lydia ladies’ Sunday School Christmas outing was a most pleasant occasion, and everyone enjoyed the time of fellowship. Our prayer list is lengthy, and we ask for your help in praying for brother Hal Chewning Jr. during his hospital stay, along with the many others who are battling various illness and maladies. We wish to congratulate our sister Suzanne Raker on having been selected “Teacher of the Year” at Anderson Elementary School. Suzanne is our pianist at Lydia and does a superb job every week, in addition to her involvement with numerous other church activities. We truly love our own Suzanne and her lovely family, and we thank her for all her hard work and dedication: she is a blessing to us all.

Pastor Wayne Allen’s Sunday sermon was from Isaiah 9:1-7, and pointed out that all Bible prophesies have, so far, come to pass, so why wouldn’t everyone believe the rest of the Bible? The basic laws of practically every country on earth owe their foundation to the Bible, and yet adhering to God’s will is often discouraged. Living in a way that is pleasing to God is frequently shunned since folks don’t want to be told they are wrong; they would rather suffer in hell than change their lives to God’s way. Pastor Wayne Allen and all of us at Lydia Baptist Church want to wish everyone in our community a very, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year, and we hope Jesus will be the center of all your celebrations. May the Lord bless you all.
